Multi-source renewable energy exchange management system for off-grid home load

Abstract


Today, green and ecological energy sources are promising sources, especially for electrifying regions far from the electricity grid. In this work, we have created an energy management strategy for a multi-source site feeding an isolated domestic site. The management strategy is based on the energy generated by a wind turbine and a photovoltaic generator and the energy required by the domestic load. To ensure the autonomy of electrical energy to this house we used a storage system called battery charge/discharge and a diesel generator as a backup source in case of the absence of renewable energies and the state of charge (SOC) of the battery is minimal. In this context, our main objective lies in developing the energy management strategy (EMS) of the studied system is extended over the daily and variable consumption during the whole day (24 hours). Finally, the proposed energy management strategy was tested and verified under all possible operating conditions. The results obtained confirm the reliability and the harmonious synchronization between energy production and consumption, in terms of system autonomy and reduction of power losses.
