Design and implementation of an integral terminal sliding mode controller for maximum power point tracking
Abstract
This paper deals with the design, the analysis and the implementation of an integral terminal sliding mode controller. Such controller is developed to track the peak power of a photovoltaic system. The selected nonlinear sliding surface is based on the derivative of the photovoltaic power with respect to the photovoltaic voltage. In addition, the development of the control law does not require the knowledge of the photovoltaic voltage or current reference which makes it simple to implement. Experimental tests are carried out to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed scheme. The obtained results show that the designed sliding mode controller is robust to environment changes.
